How leagues work
From structure to standings, one connected season.
A league on Egen Games can be flat, divisioned by age and gender, or tiered from local to state to national. Whatever shape it takes, it runs as one season: structure, registration, fixtures, live standings, and progression, all on the engine that already runs real competitions across Nigeria.
The shape of a league
Pick the structure your competition actually has
Some leagues are a single table. Others split into age and gender divisions. The biggest ones tier across geography, where community competitions feed state, and state feeds national. Egen Games runs all three, so you model your league as it really is instead of bending it to fit a tool.
The full lifecycle
Six moves take you from an idea to a governed season
Each step hands clean inputs to the next. Eligibility is settled before fixtures generate, results feed standings as they finalize, and final tables seed the next season automatically.
Structure the league
Run it flat, divisioned by age and gender, or tiered local to state to national. For each division you set the scoring config, the tiebreak order, and the verification level required to play.
Register member clubs
Schools and clubs apply into the divisions they belong in and submit rosters. Every athlete is checked for age, gender, and verification before the roster locks, so no one plays who should not.
Generate fixtures
Round-robin groups, knockout brackets, or hybrid medal-meets generate over the proven Egen Games engine, the same one that already runs real competitions. No spreadsheets, no manual draws.
Run live standings
Standings are append-only. Results flow in through the scoring engine and the division table re-orders the moment a result is finalized, applying your points and tiebreak rules automatically.
Promote and relegate
When a season closes, the platform seeds promotion and relegation across tiers automatically from the final tables. No manual recomputation, and no arguments about who goes up.
Progress across geography
Local winners qualify into state, state winners into national. One connected competition where qualification is handled for you, end to end.
What structure gives you
Configured once, enforced every fixture
The decisions you make at setup, divisions, scoring, tiebreaks, and verification, are the rules the platform applies for the rest of the season. You set the policy, the engine runs it.
Divisions that fit your sport
Split by age band, gender, or skill, or keep it flat. Each division is its own table with its own rules, and every division joins on a canonical age band so cross-division comparisons stay honest.
Scoring config per division
Set points for a win, a draw, and a loss, or run a medal-points model for meets. The scoring engine applies your config consistently across every fixture in the division.
Tiebreaks you decide upfront
Goal difference, head to head, points scored, or your own order. You lock the tiebreak sequence before a ball is kicked, so a tied table resolves the same way every time.
Verification level per division
A community division might need only a school attestation. A national final can require federation-confirmed documents. You set the bar per division, and the platform holds it.
Every fixture format
Round-robin for league play, knockout for cups, and hybrid medal-meets for athletics and swimming. League fixtures and meets can live in the same season.
Multi-tier pyramids
Stack divisions into a real pyramid with automatic seeding between seasons. Run a competition that grows season over season, not a one-off bracket.
Standings
Live tables that no one can argue with
Standings are derived and append-only. A score entry is the immutable input, and the table is recomputed from it. When a result is finalized the table re-orders instantly, applying your points and tiebreak rules. There is no manual spreadsheet to dispute, just one source of truth that updates itself.
Promotion and relegation seed automatically from the final tables, then geographic tiers carry your local winners into state and national competition.
